Whistler Children's
Art Festival Event
The
Whistler Children's Art Festival brings together
emerging and professional artists, artisans and
performers to share their skills with Whistler
kids and families. The outdoor festival features
a multitude of arts and crafts workshops, wild
main stage performances, zany roving characters
and free activities. As well as workshops for
kids aged 5 to 11, the Festival includes a pre-school
area for children aged 3-5, intermediate workshops
for kids in grade 7 and 8 and workshops for the
whole family.
The goal of the festival is
to expose children to a variety of artistic mediums
and work directly with professional artists, artisans,
and performers. Workshop facilitators are primarily
local, which encourages the development of relationships
between local artists and residents. Volunteers
are welcome too!
In preparation for next
year’s 25th anniversary of the Whistler
Children’s Art Festival, the Whistler Arts
Council has turned up the volume, expanded the
games, and doubled the entertainment! In addition
to bringing back last year’s favourites,
a number of new entertainers and musicians will
grace the Whistler Children's Art Festival main
stage.
