Whistler has been
the number 1 rated ski resort in North America
for the last 8 years in a row. Two mountains,
Whistler and Blackcomb, rise up a mile out
of the valley (1,609 metres/ 5,280 vertical
feet) and access over 7,000 acres of prime
mountain terrain - including 12 alpine bowls,
three glaciers and more than 200 marked
trails - via 33 lifts. The lifts have a
capacity of nearly 60,000 skiers per hour.
If you want a rest from the skiing there
are 18 different restaurants on the mountain.
Average snowfall is over
30 feet or 9 metres per year, and the season
lasts all the way from November through
to August.
